It's amazing that even at 10 months old, I can identify how different Aden and Angel already are! Here are some examples:</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: extremely clean eater as a baby</div><div>Angel: I have to do a load of laundry every time she eats</div><div></div><br /><div>Aden: didn't sleep through the night until 9 months</div><div>Angel: slept through the night at 3 months</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: took medicine like a champ</div><div>Angel: insert medicine, output stream of medicine down her cheek</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: needed to be entertained</div><div>Angel: plays well by herself</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: pacifier</div><div>Angel: no pacifier</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: weighed 15lbs at one year</div><div>Angel: weighs 18lbs at 7 months</div><br /><div></div><div>Aden: if bedtime routine was messed up-had to start all over</div><div>Angel: no bedtime routine, just lay her down and walk away (it's glorious!!)</div><br /><div></div><div>Those are just a few of the things I can think of! It's just so fun watching her develop and being able to compare the kiddos. </div><br /><div></div><div>Let's move on to more things I haven't posted over the past couple of months! In October, we drove to New Orleans and met Arthur's family. Spent a weekend exploring New Orleans including a night on Bourbon St (not recommended!), a ghost tour of the city, enjoying some local eateries, and a World War II museum. Aden also went on a paddle boat ride and toured the aquarium. On our way home, we stopped in Mobile, AL and toured the U.S.S. Alabama and a submarine. Aden loves battleships, so this was an amazing experience for him! </div><br /><div></div><div>In November, our pass to travel home over Thanksgiving was denied by the ARMY, which was extremely disappointing. Especially for Arthur! Since driving home was too far, we made an impromptu trip to Orlando. We had free day passes to DisneyWorld and SeaWorld. We travelled on Thanksgiving day and had a wonderful homecooked meal with a neighbor that was also in Orlando. They have 4 children and had rented a house in Orlando for a week! We felt very welcome and it took the edge off of not seeing family since we enjoyed a homemade turkey day meal! We spent Friday at the Magic Kingdom, which of course is just magical. I actually got to ride some rides this time, since I was not pregnant this time! On Saturday, we spent the ENTIRE day at SeaWorld! We rode all of the rides, watched all of the shows, and pet all of the live animals that we could. Aden loves sea animals, especially orca whales, so this was also an amazing experience!! He sat in the splash zone everywhere we went and I'm pretty sure had smile on his face during every moment! We stayed for a ice skating and fireworks show in the evening. By this time, it was cold/late/crowded, but the kiddos, husband, and I survived! We spent the Sunday morning at DownTown Disney, ate lunch at Planet Hollywood, and then headed home. We are very blessed to have theme parks treat the military families to special days! What a neat way to show support!</div><br /><div></div><div>During Christmas, we were able to take Arthur's entire leave and head home to visit family! What amazing times we had at each of their houses! We were in OKC when a blizzard hit-18 inches of snow! It's not very often that happens, and it definitely made way for some great snow play! We went sledding and tackled each other for 3 days! We were able to see grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles. We LOVE them and miss them all so much!</div><br /><div></div><div>During January, we went to Orlando (again) to visit Arthur's parents. They were there on business, and we had the fortune to stay with them over a weekend. We went to Universal Studios (with a great military discount) for 3 days. Aden LOVED it! This park was perfect for him! Spiderman, Shrek, Jimmy Neutron, Terminator, Dr. Seuss, etc. We rode all the rides he could fit on, then Gran watched the kids while Arthur and I rode the big roller coasters. We never get to do that, so we enjoyed every single one! Apparently roller coasters make me experience motion sickness, so by the end of each day I felt loopy. Aden did actually get 'sick' in the trash can, toilet, and van for one entire day while we were there! So sad! We still took him to the theme park:( Poor guy!</div><br /><div></div><div>During February, Arthur started flight school. He has early mornings and late nights of studying. We try to sneak family time in when we can! I made a yummy dinner and cake for Valentine's that the family ate by candlelight! Aden started soccer and so far is doing GREAT! He scored a goal in his first game for a tie, then his team won the second game. He is quite the competitor. He told me that when he was kicking the ball to make a goal he was thinking to himself, "They are not going to win this game!" Ha! Out of the innocent mouths of babes:) As for me, I'm raising Angel and trying to stay healthy in the midst of this awful sick season. Enjoying new neighbors and friends that we meet along the way, along with saying goodbye to good friends that continue to go where the Army tells them! We'll find out sometime in April where we will go next. Will update again around that time:)!!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-67936806129682960602009-09-25T12:46:00.001-07:002009-09-25T13:37:16.420-07:00One Year down...One year down in the Army! We moved to Alabama on Sept 19, 2008. This entire year has been an incredible experience! I have had open ears and eyes to take in the life of a military wife. We are surrounded by a completely different lifestyle that many of you probably do not know about!<br /><br />Everywhere we drive, it's 20 mph (you don't want a ticket from the Military Police!). The grocery store is the 'commissary', the city we live in is a 'post', the gas station is the '<span id="SPELLING_ERROR_0" class="blsp-spelling-error">shoppette</span>', the shopping center is the 'PX', the town hall is the 'soldier's center', etc... Helicopters fly overhead every waking hour, men and women in uniform walk up and down the street, people are always exercising (mom's are always out with strollers-post <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" class="blsp-spelling-error">partum</span> is <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_2" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">apparently</span> 'in'!), and people randomly walk up to Arthur in <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_3" class="blsp-spelling-error">Wal</span>-Mart to tell him "Thank you for serving our country". <br /><br />Honestly, if you are reading this, please start doing that when you see someone that is in uniform. It's a small way to acknowledge them for all the sacrifices they make for this great country and it puts a smile on their face! Or for that matter, thank the wives! I have met so many wives that have given up their career to move around with their husband, are willing to act as a single mom while their husbands are gone during training or deployment, and have moved away from family and friends into the unknown. <br /><br /><div>Getting involved in church and Aden's soccer is one of the greatest ways we have met other couples. Arthur and I have made friends that are hopefully lifelong and will keep in touch with all of our Army careers. There are a good handful of couples that we care very intimately for, and are looking forward to seeing where God is taking them next. The interesting thing about it is...I live on a street full of stay-at-home moms, and we barely know each other! You'd think we would all be <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_4" class="blsp-spelling-error">sippin</span>' sweet tea and talking about our husbands outside under the car port every night:) </div><div> </div><div>When I meet a wife, my first questions are: How many kids do you have? Do you live on post? Do you stay home with the <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_5" class="blsp-spelling-corrected">kids</span>? Where did you just move from?</div><br /><br />When Arthur meets another man, his first questions are: What kind of helicopter do you fly? How long have you been here? Where are you moving to next?<br /><br />After our questions, we can usually put <span id="SPELLING_ERROR_6" class="blsp-spelling-error">their</span> story together! Kinda funny, huh? Usually Arthur will find out the other persons rank and tries to explain that to me. They are all serving our country, and I am just appreciative for that.<br /><br />Do I miss my family? YES<br />Do I miss my friends? YES<br />Do I miss working? YES<br /><br />Do I love my kids and would give up work to raise them? Double YES<br />Do I support my husband and would do this all over again, including the sacrifices? Yes Yes Yes<br /><br />I am proud to be an Army wife, living on a post, shopping at a commissary, and will be ready to move again in 1 year and start again from scratch. This journey has just started!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-38032810290880086452009-08-09T19:26:00.001-07:002009-08-16T19:05:17.248-07:00Sweet Home AlabamaHappy 4th of July!! When he is finished, he will return to what is called a 'hold'. We will have a LOT more time together then! For now, it has been like finals week Freshman year of college since March-with a newborn around the house!</div><div><br /><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArRDADUtI/AAAAAAAAAPo/dcCug2TUUh0/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+006.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368338327688925906" border="0" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArRDADUtI/AAAAAAAAAPo/dcCug2TUUh0/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+006.JPG" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArR-uPOjI/AAAAAAAAAQA/NeBmdyq_Acs/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+153.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368338343720335922" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArR-uPOjI/AAAAAAAAAQA/NeBmdyq_Acs/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+153.JPG" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvgzThZsI/AAAAAAAAAQI/D3QA_SKFh-o/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+175.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368342996400039618" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvgzThZsI/AAAAAAAAAQI/D3QA_SKFh-o/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+175.JPG" /></a></div><div><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvhHAm0jI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/66nvhELVGoc/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+188.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368343001689412146" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvhHAm0jI/AAAAAAAAAQQ/66nvhELVGoc/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+188.JPG" /></a></div><div>Pictures of the kiddos at Aunt Bridget's house! She is now 16 weeks old, and looks like she's about 6 months old! She is rapidly going through her closet that is full of sweet little pink, purple, and yellow outfits. About a week ago, she started sleeping through the night. I think that it has something to do with a little thing called her thumb! That's right, I have a little thumb-sucker! It's cute for now, maybe not so much later:) She smiles all the time, and loves to have someone talk to her! She can carry on a conversation like any good girl can!</div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHqtWoSOI/AAAAAAAAAQo/4vesmVszX_4/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+331.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368369554880219362" border="0" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHqtWoSOI/AAAAAAAAAQo/4vesmVszX_4/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+331.JPG" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHrHzYNlI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/bpEEEfDQ3hY/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+499.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368369561980122706" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHrHzYNlI/AAAAAAAAAQ4/bpEEEfDQ3hY/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+499.JPG" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHrrifkEI/AAAAAAAAARA/77v1MMt-Jjw/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+558.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368369571572977730" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoBHrrifkEI/AAAAAAAAARA/77v1MMt-Jjw/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+558.JPG" /></a><br /><br />Aden is also doing great! His first day of Kindergarten was on Friday, so this will mark his first full week of all day school! We met his teacher and ran into some kids that he knew on Thursday night at his open house. Last school year, he had 4 or more friends move away and was a little nervous about meeting all new kids. Also, he has made friends with our neighbors and they get to ride the same bus to school! We have spent most of the summer playing in our pool in the backyard. Since Arthur is so busy, I usually lay Angel down for a good long nap and we go splash around. He has become an incredible swimmer and quite the little water dog! I really could go on and on about how proud I am of him making new friends, being incredibly flexible attending new activities, adjusting to being a big brother, and helping me around the house! That could be an entire blog in itself!</div><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvh7bpCeI/AAAAAAAAAQg/c286xC35UJk/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+315.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 200px; HEIGHT: 150px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368343015761447394" border="0" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoAvh7bpCeI/AAAAAAAAAQg/c286xC35UJk/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+315.JPG" /></a><br /><br />We also went home during July for a much anticipated visit with family! Interestingly enough, we have had family visit almost every weekend since March-and I am not complaining! It has done wonders for Aden's memory of family, helps me keep the house clean;), and has allowed the visitors to see Angel in different stages of her life so far. We decided to head up to AR and OK to pay them a visit in return. Don't get me wrong, I don't recommend driving 15 hours with a newborn and a 5 year old, but the trip was so worth it! Aden travels like a champ, and Angel was only fussy for about 20 minutes there-and maybe an hour on the way back!</div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArRu6HZOI/AAAAAAAAAP4/6nuumLGm8gA/s1600-h/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+116.JPG"><img style="WIDTH: 150px; HEIGHT: 200px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5368338339475186914" border="0" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SoArRu6HZOI/AAAAAAAAAP4/6nuumLGm8gA/s200/Oklahoma+visit+July+2009+116.JPG" /></a></div><div>I love a sleeping baby, and my sister is the best at getting them to cuddle!</div><div><br />Now that we are back, I have been looking forward to getting more active in church. We have recently split our life group into two groups, and Arthur has taken on the role of the facilitator. Tonight was our first night to host, and we had a really great time! It's so nice to be around other couples that share your faith and struggles-all while attending to young ones! We are given such beautiful gifts from God, and being a mother is hands down the most challenging job that I can think of. Arthur would say that being in the ARMY is no easy task, and I can't deny that the men and women that serve our country put their lives on the line every day! I don't really get into that much danger when I go to the library or the grocery store! We also have a great MOPS organization and Bible studies that I'm looking forward to getting involved in. It's amazing how much your schedule fills up when you have a husband and children to take care of! </div><div><br />Also...Happy 5th Birthday to Mackenzie Manthe! Aden will be turning 6 on August 23rd! There are so many joys that come with it! Here are a few to mention (among the many): <div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><div><br /><div></div><div>*Feeling her tiny fingers wrap around mine</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilH2XoeaGI/AAAAAAAAAPg/cFYm-_M7HeQ/s1600-h/Angel+053.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343881432234092642" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilH2XoeaGI/AAAAAAAAAPg/cFYm-_M7HeQ/s200/Angel+053.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>*Watching her melt with relief when she hears my voice</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOsVKkQI/AAAAAAAAAOw/f2RqSQE1yV0/s1600-h/Angel+3+031.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343876352548966658" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOsVKkQI/AAAAAAAAAOw/f2RqSQE1yV0/s200/Angel+3+031.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>*The excitement I feel every time I hear a burp or see a 'poopy' diaper</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOV02HXI/AAAAAAAAAOo/ewRNxVBDblY/s1600-h/Angel+3+046.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343876346507828594" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOV02HXI/AAAAAAAAAOo/ewRNxVBDblY/s200/Angel+3+046.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>*Quiet moments in the middle of the night when I feed her</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDPEjvkHI/AAAAAAAAAPA/JaSGO1zJGvw/s1600-h/Angel+3+084.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343876359052562546" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDPEjvkHI/AAAAAAAAAPA/JaSGO1zJGvw/s200/Angel+3+084.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div>*Pulling her hands through the arm holes in onesies-I feel like I've accomplished a mission every time<br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilH1ruPJNI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/g1Ea6eXnG2A/s1600-h/Gymnastics+Harrod%27s+visit+084.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343881420447098066" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilH1ruPJNI/AAAAAAAAAPQ/g1Ea6eXnG2A/s200/Gymnastics+Harrod%27s+visit+084.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOwQJ2PI/AAAAAAAAAO4/eFt5mBcbWVY/s1600-h/Angel+3+134.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343876353601689842" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SilDOwQJ2PI/AAAAAAAAAO4/eFt5mBcbWVY/s200/Angel+3+134.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />*Her contentment as she takes a warm bath</div><br />*Her bald head:)<br /><br /><div>*Tiny FEET!! We've had visitor after visitor, which is incredible for how far away we live. Our family is keeping us happy and healthy! We've also been incredibly active lately. <div><div><div><div></div><br /><div>Arthur's school has taken a turn and he is currently gone until about 8 pm. We take trips to the library, in town to VBS, and any other random errand I can think of. Aden finished school on Tuesday, and has had 4 different sets of friends over already this week! Angel just sleeps through the kiddos or is excited about the new faces she sees. I have also been enjoying cooking/baking again. I made some Arthur some dinner by candle light last night to surprise him after a hard day...Aden was sleeping, Angel was grunting, and we were both tired:) We enjoyed some good food, though!</div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoHo5WWuI/AAAAAAAAANo/Q_LZnArMbqk/s1600-h/Destin+1st+trip+009.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343635438321425122" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoHo5WWuI/AAAAAAAAANo/Q_LZnArMbqk/s200/Destin+1st+trip+009.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoIfsxx6I/AAAAAAAAAOA/4J9QBCA4PVw/s1600-h/Destin+1st+trip+021.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343635453032646562" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoIfsxx6I/AAAAAAAAAOA/4J9QBCA4PVw/s200/Destin+1st+trip+021.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><div>Last Saturday we decided to head to Destin for the day. Rough, huh? We packed our boards, lunches, towels, and sunblock as quick as we could. Angel was an absolute doll! I fed her a bottle as soon as we got there, and then she slept for the next 3 hours while we played. Mission accomplished! I did get in the water to jump the waves with Aden, but no swimsuit pictures will be posted this summer!:) Aden made a friend and dug sand castles while Arthur and I enjoyed the nice breeze. We bought an above ground pool to play in for the summer. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post later! If I can ever get my camera out! Geez. Angel is 6 weeks old, and I'm struggling to remember to take pictures. Uh oh. I've always heard the 2nd child gets photographed less. I sure hope not! I love to scrapbook:)</div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoIGASHMI/AAAAAAAAAN4/9Syotcs3wkY/s1600-h/Destin+1st+trip+011.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343635446135135426" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoIGASHMI/AAAAAAAAAN4/9Syotcs3wkY/s200/Destin+1st+trip+011.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoHykdX0I/AAAAAAAAANw/S3G0WoqgxzM/s1600-h/Destin+1st+trip+001.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5343635440918159170" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SihoHykdX0I/AAAAAAAAANw/S3G0WoqgxzM/s200/Destin+1st+trip+001.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-49287648594737249642009-05-12T11:51:00.000-07:002009-05-21T07:24:10.538-07:00Life for the 4 A's...So, there are many positive things that are happening since I'm not pregnant anymore! First of all, I get to hold and kiss the feet of the most beautiful girl in the world! (I'm a little biased) Also, I can wear shoes other than flip flops, eat tomato based meals without fear of heartburn, I can breathe again, and I sleep with only 2 pillows instead of 7! My energy is up and I'm feeling great! <div><div><div></div><br /><div>Angel is truly and angel! There is no doubt in my mind that God had chosen her name for us, and spoke through Aden to get it here! No other name could suit this little girl! She's just precious! She sleeps most of the day, and gradually is beginning to have more 'awake' time. Today, I popped on some Norah Jones while I cleaned the house and she gently fell asleep after playing for an hour! I feel so blessed, and God is so good!!</div><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViBDt47fI/AAAAAAAAANU/Eoyb9WOErYo/s1600-h/April+2009+030.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338280703634763250" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViBDt47fI/AAAAAAAAANU/Eoyb9WOErYo/s200/April+2009+030.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViA8wr-EI/AAAAAAAAANM/olw-R-0PvFk/s1600-h/April+2009+049.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338280701767448642" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViA8wr-EI/AAAAAAAAANM/olw-R-0PvFk/s200/April+2009+049.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><div>Aden is doing amazing! He is doing such a good job as a big brother, almost like he was designed for it! He sings to her and helps without question. My favorite thing he does is sing to her, and as her crying gets louder-so does his song:) He finished his soccer season strong! His team was undefeated (until the last game, but that doesn't count for Aden, since he was in OK!!). He had a soccer party at a pizza place and got a trophy and a medal that he is so proud of! Some of the games, he scored up to 3 goals! He also had a play (The Very Hungry Caterpillar) at school last week. This week, he has a gymnastics recital, which I'm looking forward to watching! We take a weekly trip to the library and pick out new books and movies to tide us over. No t.v. here, so you can imagine keeping a 5 year old entertained while feeding a newborn every other hour! He's so much bigger than he was last summer! It's hard to believe that our little man is growing up!</div><br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViBS0oUCI/AAAAAAAAANc/Cj-ceT12uZM/s1600-h/April+2009+016.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5338280707689566242" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/ShViBS0oUCI/AAAAAAAAANc/Cj-ceT12uZM/s200/April+2009+016.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>Arthur is also doing wonderful! He is currently neck deep in flight school. We were able to watch him fly last Friday at his 'family day'. He works about 12 hour days, sometimes starting at 3:30 am. We run into each other, as I am giving a middle of the night feeding to a hungry little girl:) He studies hard, is staying in shape, being a great new father, and supportive husband all at the same time! Did I mention that I feel blessed?</div><br /><div></div><div>I am working on a gift for Arthur...shhh, don't tell! Our one year anniversary is on Sunday (Angel will be 1 month old on the same day!). I have a book that says the 1 year gift in paper. Really, paper? I'll let you know what I come up with! He is making plans for us, but I'm secretly looking forward to unwrapping our wedding cake and eating it! Oh glorious day:) </div><div> </div><div>P.S. This post has been ready since before May 17 (Our anniversary), but the computer didn't allow me to upload pics until now...and I wanted to show you what we've been up to! </div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-61546358250869132912009-04-22T10:20:00.000-07:002009-04-22T11:54:55.413-07:00Angel is here!Have you ever had an answer to prayer? We have! This little girl now has Arthur, Aden, and I captivated, and she is absolutely an answer to our prayers!! Currently, Arthur is in flight school and his hours are extremely long. We both knew that when he started flight school, our best 'option' (as if to say we had one) was to have her over a weekend when he could be with us at the hospital. For two weeks in a row, the Doctor told me that I was progressing towards an early delivery. <div><div><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cCokpzFI/AAAAAAAAAMk/W0VbAaEG5xI/s1600-h/Angel+008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327578084523232338" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cCokpzFI/AAAAAAAAAMk/W0VbAaEG5xI/s200/Angel+008.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cCqJvlnI/AAAAAAAAAMs/H7qWkRuVoYM/s1600-h/Angel+020.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327578084947236466" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cCqJvlnI/AAAAAAAAAMs/H7qWkRuVoYM/s200/Angel+020.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>Well, last Thursday night, I laid awake in my bed just praying that she would come during the next day. After about an hour and a half of only sleeping 5-10 minutes at a time, I decided that it was contractions that were waking me up! After timing contractions for 3 hours, packing our bags and waking up Aden at 4:00 am-we drove to the hospital! To make a long story short...labor went EXTREMELY WELL!! Thank you for all of your prayers from my previous post! I progressed rapidly without pain (until the hospital decided to give me pitocin to speed up the contractions). I soon received my epidural and went from 7 to 10 cm in about half an hour. Angel arrived at 11:58 am-only 12 hours since I had said my last prayer! That sure beats the 36 painful hours of labor with Aden!! She was born approximately 3.5 weeks early, but all of the doctors and nurses said you can't even tell! She's amazing!!</div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDPR199I/AAAAAAAAAM0/z5u4jXSFqis/s1600-h/Angel+027.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327578094913320914" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDPR199I/AAAAAAAAAM0/z5u4jXSFqis/s200/Angel+027.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Later, I found out that my sister Bridget and my mom were also lying awake in bed that night praying for me!! Only God knew our individual prayers, and he took care of our small family like no one else could! No timing that Arthur and I could dream up would have ever compared to His PERFECT timing! Arthur was able to miss work on Friday, and stayed at the hospital with Angel and I until we came home! We had some amazing friends that were able to keep Aden until my sister Bridget and niece Georgia arrived. We came home Sunday evening with our arms full of blessings! </div><div></div><br /><div>OH! I need to mention another blessing! I have recently mentioned attending MOPS meetings (Mothers Of Preschoolers). Well, yesterday, two of the women from the meetings called and are planning on setting up meals for us for all of next week!! Just another prayer answered that we didn't even ask for! God is definitely preparing the way for this family! </div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDVFhT1I/AAAAAAAAANE/RZqPJR5dJ3o/s1600-h/Angel+042.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327578096472248146" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDVFhT1I/AAAAAAAAANE/RZqPJR5dJ3o/s200/Angel+042.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDT8YnCI/AAAAAAAAAM8/H2IEduQ-A6I/s1600-h/Angel+034.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5327578096165493794" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/Se9cDT8YnCI/AAAAAAAAAM8/H2IEduQ-A6I/s200/Angel+034.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Okay, so here's the stats of our baby girl:<br /><div>Name: Angel Michelle Clymer</div><div>Weight: 6 lbs 9 ozs (she's currently down to 5 lbs 13 ozs, but it's coming back up)</div><div>Height: 20 1/2 inches long</div><div>Birth date: April 17, 2009 at 11:58 am</div></div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-10402236597630772662009-02-18T12:36:00.000-08:002009-02-18T13:10:57.313-08:00Changing things up...So, things are changing once again...we just can't sit still down here in Alabama!! First of all, I'm getting a new O.B. doctor-and I'm 28 weeks along! Whew! Can't wait to meet her, though! My friend, Julie, just delivered at an incredible hospital down here-so Arthur and I decided to make the switch. It's a female doctor, and the facility is MUCH nicer than the one we were going to settle for! <div><div><div><div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx44TIL0XI/AAAAAAAAALU/seFdQqi9K-w/s1600-h/valentines+dance+012.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304247369738211698" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx44TIL0XI/AAAAAAAAALU/seFdQqi9K-w/s200/valentines+dance+012.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><div>The night before Valentine's, Aden had his first dance at school:) The dance was at the elementary school, and of course all parents were invited. Well, my pregnant self was ready to bust a move on the dance floor, but Aden decided he would rather chase other little boys (not girls, mind you) and hit them with balloons. Arthur took pics for us since it was supposed to be a mother/son, father/daughter dance. He could have danced with my belly if he wanted to:) There's enough of it to go around!! On Valentine's Day, Arthur ordered pizza while I took a hot bath. It was GREAT:) The pizzas were shaped like hearts, and I was too hungry to take a picture of them first! Maybe next year!</div><br /><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx45zpWp5I/AAAAAAAAALc/M5yGZxpsy-g/s1600-h/valentines+dance+015.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304247395647137682" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx45zpWp5I/AAAAAAAAALc/M5yGZxpsy-g/s200/valentines+dance+015.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>Biggest change of all!!! We have decided to start going to a church that's not exactly what we are looking for, but have decided it's better to start getting plugged in somewhere than to keep looking. So, off to MOPS and hopefully Bible Studies in the near future! I'll keep you posted! We have been going on Sunday nights to a Dave Ramsey financial peace university class (a Biblically based class on living debt free and saving for the future). It has completely changed our lives!! We have put ourselves on a budget for every dollar earned, turned off our t.v. to save money (so long American Idol), and sold his big red truck to buy a less expensive vehicle. You heard me right!! Arthur had bought a 2007 Chevy Silverado last Spring...super nice, with tons of perks. We went car shopping this week, and found an incredible deal on a 2004 Honda Odyssey. I'll put pics up so you can see our new find!! Goodbye Chevy and Hello Honda!</div><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx47YbhmtI/AAAAAAAAALk/HGzChx5IZJw/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+177.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304247422701116114" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx47YbhmtI/AAAAAAAAALk/HGzChx5IZJw/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+177.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx48DUfOyI/AAAAAAAAALs/Gyg8OSpuUM8/s1600-h/New+Van+001.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304247434214325026" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx48DUfOyI/AAAAAAAAALs/Gyg8OSpuUM8/s200/New+Van+001.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx48scloDI/AAAAAAAAAL0/_tssGQL4pSM/s1600-h/New+Van+008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5304247445254152242" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SZx48scloDI/AAAAAAAAAL0/_tssGQL4pSM/s200/New+Van+008.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div> </div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-17315368987306084782009-02-12T14:06:00.001-08:002009-02-12T14:10:24.377-08:00Pregnancy clarified:)Oops! I feel the need to clarify after reading some responses! I was not trying to vent or complain...just stating the truth in love:) Some people have great pregnancies. Some do not. I seem to be one of those people that have a tough time with it! I am incredibly grateful for the chance and blessing to have another bundle of joy on the way!! So excited in fact, I wish that she'd come today, and not in 13 weeks...but that may also just be me wanting to finish this pregnancy quickly:) Either way, thanks for your encouragement and thoughts! It's going to be great to post pictures so that you all can see her!! Wish that you could be here to hold her, too!! We'll just let you know how good that feels via blogging:)Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-18709773272985018832009-02-12T11:56:00.000-08:002009-02-12T12:17:22.212-08:00Pregnancy...When Arthur and I decided to get pregnant, we had a completely skewed view! The sunny times, the happy times, the beautiful growing moments together...eerrrrrrr (think car brakes squealing!). This pregnancy has turned out to be close to the opposite!! I hate to be the bearer of bad news to friends and family that might think that I'm 'glowing', but ouch! This is hard! When we were basking in the joy of making a baby we didn't really stop to think about these things...weight gain, hip pain, heartburn, shortness of breath, lack of energy, mood swings, sleepless nights, swollen ankles/body, irritability/tearfulness, frequent bathroom breaks (5 times nightly, hence the lack of sleep), and the increased awareness of scents around you (as in a new husband's breath and body odor after he works out!). Nobody told me that I would be so fearful of going into labor and delivery again (if you don't know...it was B-A-D for me, and seems to be great for all of my friends...hence the frustration).<br /><br />So, friends and family, this is my pregnancy in a nutshell. I'd love to blow flowers and bubbles in the air, but unfortunately I just don't have the energy to do that anymore!! I love my husband, and he is forever trying to please me...poor guy. I love my son, he is forever kissing my belly and telling his baby sister that he "can't wait for her to come out to play". I love my daughter that's growing inside me, who never stops kicking my bladder or my ribs! I love my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who can conquer any fear that I might be experiencing and be the unwavering truth in my life! I love my family members and friends that encourage me, knowing this experience is completely different for me and reminding me of that each time we talk (I have tears as I type that)! Oh, and I love meeting strangers that say I look so 'small' for being this far along. HAHAHAHAHA:) They don't know how much I've gained, and neither do you!!<br /><br />I have 13 weeks to go. PRAISE GOD!! Oh, and before the next time we decide to have a baby we have to meet 2 criteria: 1)I'll be in the best shape of my life, 2)Arthur will be deployed (due to all of the reasons listed above!!)Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-38818083617156333192009-02-02T12:28:00.000-08:002009-02-02T12:52:56.017-08:00The most magical place on earth!!<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsuM7h4I/AAAAAAAAALM/QC0V3qZmG1Q/s1600-h/DisneyWorld+070.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298305410010941314" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsuM7h4I/AAAAAAAAALM/QC0V3qZmG1Q/s200/DisneyWorld+070.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsYBiTzI/AAAAAAAAALE/zY4fNJSPCH8/s1600-h/DisneyWorld+044.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298305404057571122" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsYBiTzI/AAAAAAAAALE/zY4fNJSPCH8/s200/DisneyWorld+044.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Now that I have updated you about our Christmas and travels, there is more to talk about! After a week of being home in Alabama, we found out that Disney World put out a great deal for active duty military and their family! Arthur and I talked about it in depth and decided to bite the bullet and go for a couple of reasons: <div><div><div><div>1) I am getting bigger and more swollen by the day</div><div>2) Take a vacation before we have the baby</div><div>3) Aden is a great age to remember this experience</div><div>4) Arthur had 4 days off from work</div><br /><div></div><div>We quickly planned the trip, bought groceries (we packed our lunches/snacks everyday), and headed down to Orlando. We kept telling Aden what we were going to do, but his little mind had no idea what was about to happen! We were able to go to all 4 parks and see amazing fireworks/shows/rides! Some of our absolute favorites were the Indiana Jones show, stunt shows, Finding Nemo live show (Broadway worthy!), Disney Playhouse show, Toy Story ride, thunder mountain, It's a Small World, the train ride around the Magic Kingdom, Dinosaur roller coaster ride, the fireworks over the castle and Epcot, the 3-D movies, and every parade that we could possibly see!</div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcrlqI4dI/AAAAAAAAAKs/MNl5705xC-o/s1600-h/DisneyWorld+006.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298305390537662930" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcrlqI4dI/AAAAAAAAAKs/MNl5705xC-o/s200/DisneyWorld+006.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsAyRpdI/AAAAAAAAAK8/AcyFxQcFyWw/s1600-h/DisneyWorld+030.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298305397819549138" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcsAyRpdI/AAAAAAAAAK8/AcyFxQcFyWw/s200/DisneyWorld+030.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br />Aden had more energy than Arthur and I put together! We were there from the time the parks opened until they shut down! He ran everywhere we went, including to the car as we left each night! We kept seeing kids asleep on their parents shoulders, but not our little tyke! It was a great adventure overall, and we hope to go back again someday! With the military, we also get discounts/free days at Sea World and Busch Gardens, as well as the Disney water theme parks!! They expire before the end of the year, and I'm not real anxious about getting back in a swimsuit anytime soon...so we'll see! Hope you enjoy the pictures!</div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcryjVY-I/AAAAAAAAAK0/e105U32rZ98/s1600-h/DisneyWorld+032.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298305393998783458" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYdcryjVY-I/AAAAAAAAAK0/e105U32rZ98/s200/DisneyWorld+032.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-9822377693728849762009-02-02T08:29:00.000-08:002009-02-02T09:22:38.408-08:00Finally, an update:)So, I haven't posted in about a month, but now I have a lot to share!! We were able to come home and visit family over Christmas! Thankfully, since we had been missing them very much! Our first stop was in Tahlequah to visit my sisters, brother-in-laws, and kids. We had a few days of playing games, eating too much food, having girl talk/boy talk, and watching the kids put on a talent show! So much fun, and EXTREMELY hard to say goodbye! <div><div><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoDBM7KyI/AAAAAAAAAKM/hDW_hvhW5CA/s1600-h/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+015.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298247518952041250" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoDBM7KyI/AAAAAAAAAKM/hDW_hvhW5CA/s200/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+015.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoC_wR5sI/AAAAAAAAAKE/kBsT8eH8QgA/s1600-h/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+012.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298247518563460802" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoC_wR5sI/AAAAAAAAAKE/kBsT8eH8QgA/s200/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+012.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>Our next stop was in Edmond at Arthur's dad's house. We had more good food, lots of entertainment, watched the OSU bowl game, went ice skating, bowling, and were blessed by exciting gifts at Christmas for us and the baby!</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoD0_3Q5I/AAAAAAAAAKU/HkFLy-gn8Dw/s1600-h/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+060.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298247532855903122" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoD0_3Q5I/AAAAAAAAAKU/HkFLy-gn8Dw/s200/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+060.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>The final stop before we came home was Arthur's mom's house. Again, we had great food, entertainment, had a night out watching fireworks for New Year's (Aden's first time to stay awake that late and he LOVED it!), and then had to pack up for the long drive home. So, Aden ended up crying for about an hour and a half the night before we left, because he was having a really hard time saying goodbye to all we had just experienced. He said, "There's no family in Alabama!". Needless to say, mommy held him and had a few tears myself! He took about 3 naps on the 14 hour car ride home, I propped up my swollen pregnant ankles, and Arthur took on most of the driving!</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoEIO-P7I/AAAAAAAAAKc/L8pTtLFKAkE/s1600-h/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+067.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298247538019549106" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoEIO-P7I/AAAAAAAAAKc/L8pTtLFKAkE/s200/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+067.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div></div><div>In more recent news...Aden had his school pictures taken last Friday, we've been hunting down awesome baby deals through craigslist.com every day, have been attending a Dave Ramsey Financial Peace University at a local church (great program for anyone!!), have still been searching for a church, been on a homemade dessert kick (bananas foster, grapefruit cake, homemade doughnuts, coffee cake, lemon bars, cookies, etc) and preparing the house for upcoming visitors! We are looking forward to having family come to visit us for the first time since we've lived here!! After that...the baby will be here soon! The baby is due in May, but there is always a chance to go early (or late). Please keep us in your prayers!!</div><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoEUfv8qI/AAAAAAAAAKk/BKrpgwvB85k/s1600-h/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+086.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5298247541311140514" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SYcoEUfv8qI/AAAAAAAAAKk/BKrpgwvB85k/s200/Christmas+and+New+Years+08+086.JPG" border="0" /></a></div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-76883999409951160602008-12-19T11:22:00.000-08:002008-12-19T11:58:28.827-08:00Big news:)!!!SO, IT'S A GIRL!! We had an appointment this week to find out the gender, and it's a sure thing! The ultrasound tech took all the measurements and checked to see if the baby is healthy (heart, brain, spine, kidney function, etc). It all looks good so far! During the appointment, she was flipping around all over the place and it was hard to get her still for a good shot. Finally, the REVEAL. Arthur joked that his little girl was, "Being conservative, and that's a good thing!". All in all, I'm doing good and the baby is doing good. I still have extreme hip pain once in a while. Usually, it happens when I overdo it-like go buy groceries!! Unfortunately, I'm telling the truth! I try to exercise to keep strong and healthy, but it about wipes me out for the day. I have found my true new love for exercise in <span style="color:#cc0000;">Water Aerobics</span>!!! I exercise with about 6 little old ladies that have thick German accents! They just love me to bits and pieces:) I'm sure I'll continue going more often as I get further along in the pregnancy. Okay, so enough talk, on with pictures!!<br /><div><div><div><div><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4YZZvr0I/AAAAAAAAAJA/xJz2brO1lqY/s1600-h/001.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281588086041456450" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4YZZvr0I/AAAAAAAAAJA/xJz2brO1lqY/s200/001.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4ZAKbZaI/AAAAAAAAAJI/IHOC23Ll18k/s1600-h/002.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281588096446195106" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4ZAKbZaI/AAAAAAAAAJI/IHOC23Ll18k/s200/002.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>So, it's been a while since I've updated. Thanksgiving went great! We invited a single soldier over that wasn't going to make it home for the holiday. I made way TOO much food for 3 adults and 1 child, so we ate leftovers for about 4 days (and finally got sick of it!).<br /></div><br /><div>Aden has been doing great in school! He continues to learn sign language, fun songs, goes to the library, has a music class, and loves to play with our neighbor boys. They are moving in April, and then our street will become very lonely! Please pray for that transition! Not sure if Aden will understand why his best friend is moving away. Oh, and we got a dog! Chopper is his name. He's about 6 months old and is really a great companion around the house!</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4ZxDrDYI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/yhPzr9-3IkU/s1600-h/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+007.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281588109571198338" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4ZxDrDYI/AAAAAAAAAJQ/yhPzr9-3IkU/s200/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+007.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>Arthur has taken up wild hog hunting! He went with a buddy a couple of weeks ago and brought home a hog to butcher in our backyard! Ewwww! We've also started selling things on ebay. Trying to find an extra source of income, and hopefully this will be better than garage sales!</div><br /><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4aQX1wHI/AAAAAAAAAJY/OG2NHKBadCs/s1600-h/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+018.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281588117977284722" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4aQX1wHI/AAAAAAAAAJY/OG2NHKBadCs/s200/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+018.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv8uWIspqI/AAAAAAAAAJo/wpRa1urZpyU/s1600-h/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+015.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281592861168281250" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv8uWIspqI/AAAAAAAAAJo/wpRa1urZpyU/s200/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+015.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>We also have maybe found a church:) We've tried about 7 different ones and are astounded that everything down here is sooooo Southern Baptist. I guess we do live in the South! The church that we've been visiting is rather large, but offers great Sunday School and cell groups. I'll keep you updated if we make the 'decision'. Not necessarily to join, as any good Southern Baptist would do so that they could report their numbers at the convention...but to continue going there:) Hope everyone is doing well!!</div><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4agwqWVI/AAAAAAAAAJg/6K-bttJY0_o/s1600-h/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+066.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281588122376362322" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SUv4agwqWVI/AAAAAAAAAJg/6K-bttJY0_o/s200/Thanksgiving+and+Santa+066.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><div>Oh, and did I mention that we're going HOME for Christmas!!! Well, this year I am thankful for family!! More than one family, at that! My dad recently sent me a fantastic camera that I am anxious to learn how to use (perfect hobby for me right now!). My sister gathered two HUGE bags full of maternity clothes and sent them to me in Alabama (perfect timing for my ever growing belly and slimming wardrobe!). My mother in law sent me a beautiful maternity winter coat, considering that even Alabama gets down to freezing temperatures!! I am thankful for a husband that has been so incredibly understanding (that in itself is an understatement!!!!) during my pregnancy. (My pregnancy hormones, moving, being away from family, not having many friends, no church home, and no satisfying job outside of the home...add up to an emotional Abigail!!) I am thankful for a son that continues to surprise me daily with lessons learned at school and desire to learn more at home. I am thankful for errands that get me out of the house! I am thankful that we are blessed financially and able to put great food on the table each day, and for me to stay home to provide that for Arthur and Aden. Most of all, I am thankful for my Lord that gets me through each day of life! Even when I am in a miserable mood, He is forever unchanging and is always waiting for me to seek the peace and understanding that only He can provide. God has covered Arthur, Aden, and myself in blankets of protection and love as we have face multiple circumstances over the past 6 months. So, I hope that you are feeling blessed on this Thanksgiving holiday! If you are a family member reading this...know that you are greatly missed and that I will have a TON of leftovers after making a feast for only 3 people:)Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-67879196227335532382008-10-31T14:03:00.000-07:002008-10-31T14:29:37.995-07:00Still so many things to talk about<div><div><div><div><div>Well, this past month has definitely been full of 'firsts' for Aden. (Not sure if that's even a word!) He moved out of state, and did an AMAZING job for being awake during the 13 hour car ride!! Aden has completely molded into the lifestyle that we have thrust upon him! Of course, there are some perks that he gets to experience along the way! He goes to an incredible new school that offers so many cool opportunities, gets to ride the school bus, and attend many functions and festivals geared towards kids! He's been learning sign language at an incredibly fast pace, some cute songs on the school bus (which he only rides for 9 minutes), and he still loves taking his teachers apples and cute notes. Here are some pics with his new teacher and riding on the school bus on his first day of school!<br /><div><div><div><div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1Cr7cb1I/AAAAAAAAAII/UorB0eoE3gs/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+237.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263429278524796754" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1Cr7cb1I/AAAAAAAAAII/UorB0eoE3gs/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+237.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1AB5S_OI/AAAAAAAAAHo/5vkQHtNAGng/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+239.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263429232881761506" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1AB5S_OI/AAAAAAAAAHo/5vkQHtNAGng/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+239.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1AgJN1nI/AAAAAAAAAHw/o9CBUXIOxLA/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+245.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263429241001596530" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1AgJN1nI/AAAAAAAAAHw/o9CBUXIOxLA/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+245.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><div>After being here for about 2 weeks, we decided it was time to head to the beach!! We live about an hour and a half from Destin, FL, so we definitely took advantage of it! The sand is pure white, the water is clear, the beach wasn't crowded, and we had some amazing sea food that night for dinner-while we watched the sun go down over the ocean!! It was incredible!! We will definitely go back when we have more time and funds:) Aden was nervous at first about the moving water, but was soon diving or jumping through the waves with daddy. I even got in on the action, but you will not see a picture of me in a bathing suit for about the next 2 years!!</div><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt36vIvtqI/AAAAAAAAAIw/OS5EqlxNoD0/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+252.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263432440481822370" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt36vIvtqI/AAAAAAAAAIw/OS5EqlxNoD0/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+252.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt36Ztb8SI/AAAAAAAAAIo/6PW8uRh6fDc/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+293.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263432434730135842" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt36Ztb8SI/AAAAAAAAAIo/6PW8uRh6fDc/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+293.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div></div><div>We also went to Oktoberfest on post a couple of days after we arrived. They had German food, German music, snacks, bouncy toys, and lots of trinket booths. Arthur and I were still pretty exhausted from the move, but it was nice for Aden to experience! There is also a lake on post, about 10 minutes from our house. We drove down there and were amazed by what we saw. (First of all, don't know if I'll be swimming in ANY water in Alabama...hello, alligators!!) The lake is so kid friendly! Lots of slides and parks that are not pictured, and best of all-it's another sandy beach!</div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1BVRGvCI/AAAAAAAAAH4/yvVajlKzWLU/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+190.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263429255261764642" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1BVRGvCI/AAAAAAAAAH4/yvVajlKzWLU/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+190.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1CMn2fzI/AAAAAAAAAIA/JlQXNXvRPRk/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+191.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263429270121119538" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt1CMn2fzI/AAAAAAAAAIA/JlQXNXvRPRk/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+191.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt35EeDrYI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/Roc5GlDdcik/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+192.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263432411848617346" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt35EeDrYI/AAAAAAAAAIQ/Roc5GlDdcik/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+192.JPG" border="0" /></a></div><br /><br /><div></div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt35uJ9avI/AAAAAAAAAIY/m6l4nng-Tx0/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+226.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263432423038610162" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt35uJ9avI/AAAAAAAAAIY/m6l4nng-Tx0/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+226.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt3596sZtI/AAAAAAAAAIg/YItu3-x5M0c/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+228.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5263432427269547730" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQt3596sZtI/AAAAAAAAAIg/YItu3-x5M0c/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+228.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div>Arthur was present at all of these activities, but I'm taking full advantage of the fact that I am actually IN some of the pictures!! Aden had a halloween parade at his school today, and we'll be going trick or treating tonight. So, I should have plenty of cute little costume pics to show you soon! Oh!! Something that you can be praying for! I have had pelvic/low back pain that has been getting increasingly worse over the past couple of months. The Dr. finally put me on Hydrocodone to treat the pain (I know all of you previously pregnant moms just winced. It's like taking 4 Tylenol). I'm extremely against taking any medicine that could harm the baby, so I started Physical Therapy yesterday. Lord willing, I'll gain some relief there and can bypass taking meds for much longer! Hope you are well, and I'd love to hear from more family and friends soon!!! Arthur gets home Sunday, so if you want my undivided attention...now's your chance!</div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-1929792217742561512008-10-26T13:08:00.000-07:002008-10-26T14:14:30.045-07:00Too much to talk aboutWow, there have been so many things that have happened since I last wrote!! I'm going to try to put a timeline to my paragraphs so you can follow along on the most recent and EXCITING events in our lives!!<br /><br /><br /><span style="color:#cc0000;">September 9, 2008</span>: Aden was adopted and is officially Aden Dane Clymer!! He received so many cool gifts that day! He now has his own signant ring with a 'C' on it (which he wears daily), a Spiderman computer, an embroidered blanket with his new name, a Cars watch to see what time he became a Clymer, etc...We had such a great time and it is now our Celebration Day!!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTWOqQuHNI/AAAAAAAAAGY/QPVqi5gkWVY/s1600-h/101.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261565812026514642" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTWOqQuHNI/AAAAAAAAAGY/QPVqi5gkWVY/s200/101.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><span style="color:#ff9900;">September 15, 2008</span>: Drove to Leavenworth with Aden to visit my sister Beverly and my friend Val. Aden had a blast at a T-Rex restaurant with Aunt Beverly and playing with Val's girls Mackenzie and Bella. I was extrememly sick, otherwise I would have LOVED to hold her new baby Deacon!!<br /><br /><br /><p></p><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTXAwz4jLI/AAAAAAAAAGg/2LagzdvdyCc/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+132.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261566672778071218" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTXAwz4jLI/AAAAAAAAAGg/2LagzdvdyCc/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+132.JPG" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTXzz2benI/AAAAAAAAAGo/uT6Mpd4JbE0/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+145.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261567549767383666" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTXzz2benI/AAAAAAAAAGo/uT6Mpd4JbE0/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+145.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTX0fdZadI/AAAAAAAAAGw/VQWesk3F8Hg/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+153.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261567561473550802" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTX0fdZadI/AAAAAAAAAGw/VQWesk3F8Hg/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+153.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><p></p><span style="color:#ffff66;">September 19, 2008</span>: The day that changed our lives was the day we left for Alabama!! Arthur got home around noon, we loaded up the car with the help of my sisters Bridget and Uriel, then had to say 'goodbye' to my adorable niece and nephew, sisters, and brother-in-law! There were plenty of tears to go around, as life was about to drastically change for all of us!! Bridget and I have gotten very close over the past 4 years. The relationship that I'm concerned about the most is between Bridget and Aden!! Aden is so young, that it's hard to think he won't remember a lot of what happened to him in Oklahoma. Bridget will, though! She watched him daily over the past 4 years while I completed my Master's and worked 2-3 jobs at a time! Bridget made him an amazing picture book from the time he was born until the move. The pictures will be great for keeping his memories and cousins vivid in his mind!! Great job, Aunt B!<br /><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTamT2TiQI/AAAAAAAAAG4/vmC1Ey3L4W8/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+169.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261570616373512450" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTamT2TiQI/AAAAAAAAAG4/vmC1Ey3L4W8/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+169.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTam_gRJVI/AAAAAAAAAHA/wD8auJCQyco/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+166.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261570628092241234" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTam_gRJVI/AAAAAAAAAHA/wD8auJCQyco/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+166.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTanM9TYCI/AAAAAAAAAHI/F1v9IPAc88E/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+174.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261570631703683106" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTanM9TYCI/AAAAAAAAAHI/F1v9IPAc88E/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+174.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="color:#009900;">September 21, 2008</span>: Arthur and I moved into our new 4 bedroom duplex in Fort Rucker, AL! We unpacked and arranged the house in one week! Quick and efficient! There are still some rooms that will need some work, but for now we have the house in pretty good condition. Let's just say our house was built in the 1950's and has some odd colored bathrooms:) Otherwise, it has plenty of closet space, cabinets, and good size bedrooms!<br /><br /><br /><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcOcURPNI/AAAAAAAAAHY/jAsQKsq2TvA/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+300.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261572405353069778" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcOcURPNI/AAAAAAAAAHY/jAsQKsq2TvA/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+300.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcPNiJezI/AAAAAAAAAHg/DZDvTfsK-B0/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+311.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261572418564619058" style="WIDTH: 150px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 200px" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcPNiJezI/AAAAAAAAAHg/DZDvTfsK-B0/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+311.JPG" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcNivi1OI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/3AKL8t69uM8/s1600-h/Moving+to+Alabama+299.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5261572389898212578" style="WIDTH: 200px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 150px" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SQTcNivi1OI/AAAAAAAAAHQ/3AKL8t69uM8/s200/Moving+to+Alabama+299.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><span style="color:#3333ff;">October 3, 2008</span>: Aden's first day at his new school! He is going to a Pre-K program with an amazing teacher! She has been teaching for over 22 years and has a Master's in Childhood Education. He comes home daily with new songs and sign language that he has learned! They have a computer lab, library, music room, Spanish teacher, life-skills teacher, and overall just a pretty cool environment! I wish that you could all hear his stories about the firemen that came to visit, the different kind of spiderwebs that he can name, and the adorable songs that he learns on the school bus! That's right, a school bus! He rides the bus 9 minutes in the morning, and 11 minutes after school. Arthur and I have been very fortunate to drop him off and pick him up everyday at the bus stop, which is up the hill from our house. It's so much fun!! He wears a backpack and takes a snack everyday! He likes to write notes to his teacher and take her apples (all of these ideas come from his sweet little brain!!).<br /><br /><br /><span style="color:#6600cc;">October 9, 2008</span>: Had a Dr. visit to tell us that we are 9 1/2 weeks pregnant!! For those of you that wonder how this all happened since Arthur was gone all summer, let's just say that we basically got pregnant as soon as he came home. We were trying to plan for a baby's arrival while he is in flight school in Alabama. In good terms, he will not be deployed during this time and will be able to be there for the birth and at least a few months of the baby's growth!!<br /><br /><br /><span style="color:#ffccff;">October 12, 2008</span>: Arthur left again for 21 days with no contact. Yuck! So far, he has at least had his cell phone on him. This school is a very important and high detailed school, ummmm, did I also mention that it's out in the woods and he will most likely be eating snake, rabbit, and squirrel (if berries can't hold him over)!! He'll probably come back as thin as a rail, but with my raging hormones and incredible appetite, I'll fatten him back up in no time;)<br /><br /><br />So, Aden and I are just hanging out alone while daddy is gone again! We have been taking nature hikes, bike rides to local parks, trying out new churches, going to the library, attending about every fall festival in the area, and spending time with our good friends Julie and Terry that have also moved here from Tahlequah. Keep us in your prayers!! We love Alabama and everything has been great so far! We are definitely looking forward to daddy coming home again, and this time he should stay put for a while!!! Love and prayers to our friends and families!! Oh yeah, and if I don't call you...it's probably because I'm hoping that you will call me! Backwards, I know!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-16071653153418059502008-08-14T07:38:00.000-07:002008-08-14T08:48:03.608-07:00Arthur's home...er, kind of!!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRSm9ZrZnI/AAAAAAAAAGM/DifsTLfRdCs/s1600-h/August2008+001.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234399496182130290" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRSm9ZrZnI/AAAAAAAAAGM/DifsTLfRdCs/s200/August2008+001.jpg" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMGpIxchI/AAAAAAAAAFk/CU137bASvgw/s1600-h/August2008+005.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234392343916933650" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMGpIxchI/AAAAAAAAAFk/CU137bASvgw/s200/August2008+005.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><div>Well, life has been coming at us like a sack of potatoes!! Arthur came home early on July 28th, and we had an incredible week together! Aden and I picked him up from the airport...and headed H-O-M-E! Don't worry, plenty of hugs came later!</div><div></div><br /><div><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMHGODQbI/AAAAAAAAAFs/v4H-IAw-z90/s1600-h/August2008+017.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234392351723700658" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMHGODQbI/AAAAAAAAAFs/v4H-IAw-z90/s200/August2008+017.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMHQDfdfI/AAAAAAAAAF0/Pix0jdqi8-M/s1600-h/August2008+018.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234392354363766258" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMHQDfdfI/AAAAAAAAAF0/Pix0jdqi8-M/s200/August2008+018.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br />The first night home, I made a lasagna, crescents, fruit platter with dip, and cake! I decorated the house all red/white/and blue with Aden's pictures that he had colored all over the walls, and had some family over to welcome him home. The rest of the week included a lot of laziness! We went to the river one day, tried camping in the backyard during the 100 degree weather stint (and by 'tried' I mean we went inside to sleep in the air conditioning at about 1am!), barbequed hamburgers, and had a date night in Tulsa where we watched The Dark Night in the imax!! It was so great to have him home and spend husband/wife time together!!</div><div></div><br /><div><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMH3WtRpI/AAAAAAAAAF8/Ore2PG2JZGI/s1600-h/August2008+037.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234392364913346194" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SKRMH3WtRpI/AAAAAAAAAF8/Ore2PG2JZGI/s200/August2008+037.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /></div><div></div><div>On August 3rd, he left early to report at his next assignment in Fort Sill, which is only 4 hours away. Soooo, this means he can come home on the weekends and we can visit with family! Last weekend I made his favorite, upside down pizza, and we rented some movies. He's on a pretty tight schedule with the ARMY, so he has to come and go rather quickly. Just enough time for me to feed him and do his laundry:)!! We have some pretty important dates coming up, so please pray for us as we go through this journey together!! Arthur is going through some more training and I'm preparing the house for our first move! He gets home on Sept 19th and we start driving on the 20th!! Oh...and Aden is turning 5 next Saturday! Can you believe it!? Arthur and I plan on getting him a super duper bicycle for his birthday, but shhhh...don't tell:)</div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-64944044612718504342008-07-22T11:21:00.000-07:002008-07-22T12:49:11.925-07:00Arthur N Me in Washington!Well, the Lord truly worked out details to go on the trip to visit Arthur! The airplane, the car rental, the hotels, and the entire adventure!! I got there about noon on Friday. Arthur kept calling and sending texts to see if I was getting closer...very cute, because it showed me his excitement! We toured the post and met all of his coworkers while we waited for a meeting that afternoon. After that, we went back to the hotel and literally slept from 4:30-11:15 pm!! We were exhausted! <a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwlXuQA3I/AAAAAAAAAEI/ZywmE9OC-AU/s1600-h/new+042.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225917836191335282" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwlXuQA3I/AAAAAAAAAEI/ZywmE9OC-AU/s200/new+042.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwlHkRB_I/AAAAAAAAAEA/PY4p-nwu5PA/s1600-h/new+022.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225917831854491634" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwlHkRB_I/AAAAAAAAAEA/PY4p-nwu5PA/s200/new+022.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />We enjoyed our time driving down different exits and following signs to harbors. One day, we ate brunch overlooking a harbor filled with sailboats, yachts, and kayaks! We also went to Pike's Market Place where they throw the fish the customers had bought. Quite a show! We walked down to the pier and Arthur had a seagull eating right out of his hand!<br /><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz13jxHfI/AAAAAAAAAEo/dckfkyRUq0U/s1600-h/new+065.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225921418150092274" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz13jxHfI/AAAAAAAAAEo/dckfkyRUq0U/s200/new+065.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIY1bA8m-CI/AAAAAAAAAE4/RxU7DdjZRiY/s1600-h/new+025.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225923155836991522" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp2.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIY1bA8m-CI/AAAAAAAAAE4/RxU7DdjZRiY/s200/new+025.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />We also visited the Museum of Flight, the Seattle Space Needle, took a 3 hour whale watching boat tour, and drove to Snoqualmie Falls (where we ate at a restaurant on top of a 185 foot waterfall!). There were also 3 days that we stayed in the hotel room and spent time together! One of our favorite things to do together is order pizza and watch a movie-so we did:)<a href="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwkgIDDqI/AAAAAAAAAD4/Adf8G3bu1R4/s1600-h/new+015.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225917821267152546" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp1.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYwkgIDDqI/AAAAAAAAAD4/Adf8G3bu1R4/s200/new+015.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz3OCYsXI/AAAAAAAAAEw/zsvFQB-xJfo/s1600-h/new+019.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225921441363964274" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz3OCYsXI/AAAAAAAAAEw/zsvFQB-xJfo/s200/new+019.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz1rSaSYI/AAAAAAAAAEg/3KUl_imC9Gc/s1600-h/new+032.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225921414856067458" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://bp0.blogger.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SIYz1rSaSYI/AAAAAAAAAEg/3KUl_imC9Gc/s200/new+032.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Arthur looked amazing in his Army uniform, and I am very proud of what he is doing! He has been working incredibly hard (3:30 am to 10:30 pm) for almost 2 months straight!! Just seeing him in his uniform with a beret, and watching cadets stand at attention and call him 'sir' was just amazing! I have so much respect for him and what he does, especially after seeing it first hand! He is living in less than a bad-dorm-room type conditions, not being compensated enough for dedicating his life to his country, putting in an 80 hour work week in 2 1/2 days, and he has to be separated from his family right after experiencing the excitement of getting married! It's hard to find a quiet moment to talk like a husband and wife on the phone, unless he sits outside and gets eaten alive by mosquitoes!! So, all in all, it was a great trip...but we are ready to have ARTHUR COME HOME!!! I pick him up from the airport July 29th at 12:05 a.m.!!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-65497613337945090062008-07-10T06:15:00.000-07:002008-07-10T06:20:48.886-07:00Leaving on a jet planeMy prayers have been answered! The plane ticket has been bought, now we are just finalizing car rentals and hotels. Kind of a fast track to Seattle, but the Lord's hand has been in the midst of things. I had a garage sale last weekend and cleaned out our house, to raise money for the trip:) I needed to do it before we moved, so what better timing!?<br /><br />We had a wonderfuly July 4th! I'll have to post pics later. We spend the morning at the house, the afternoon at the lake, the evening at church for BBQ and fireworks, and then talked to daddy on the phone when we came home. He was out in the woods (I know, still playing soldier), so I took a great pic of a firework and sent it to him. He said that's the only one that he saw. By the way (BIG PRAYER REQUEST), I had told Arthur that I would like to buy fireworks so that Aden and him could shoot them off when he comes home in a couple of weeks. Well, I waited 1 day too late and am unable to buy them from those road side stands. If anyone knows where I can get my late little hands on them, it would be much appreciated!!<br /><br />Well, goodbye for now! I hope to have great stories and pictures to share when I get home from seeing my HUSBAND!!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-77541168888306288842008-06-26T11:03:00.001-07:002008-06-26T11:25:19.066-07:00Slowly, but surely!<a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPetl1rO1I/AAAAAAAAADo/JGGpmi5jcMg/s1600-h/June+2008+024.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216257668257889106" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPetl1rO1I/AAAAAAAAADo/JGGpmi5jcMg/s200/June+2008+024.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Well, Aden and I are getting through this summer slowly, but surely. Every day seems like a week, and every week seems like a month. All of this Army business needed to wait until we had a year long honeymoon:) Like that would ever happen! So, we're making the best of it! Now that the weather has become HOT, we have been going to the pool and river quite a bit. Aden stayed at Grandma and Grandpa Clymer's house while Bridget was in Dallas and I was working full time! It would be SO great not to work, and be able to spend all of that time with Aden...but somebody's gotta pay the bills while Arthur is off playing in the woods!! <a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPc-_Ipl2I/AAAAAAAAADg/8Mi6GEcvUjQ/s1600-h/June+2008+036.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216255768082880354" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPc-_Ipl2I/AAAAAAAAADg/8Mi6GEcvUjQ/s200/June+2008+036.jpg" border="0" /></a><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPc764mhYI/AAAAAAAAADA/2LCXuv8xbZI/s1600-h/June+2008+005.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216255715402220930" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPc764mhYI/AAAAAAAAADA/2LCXuv8xbZI/s200/June+2008+005.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPeugK_tlI/AAAAAAAAADw/l_8dlcML6aA/s1600-h/June+2008+020.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5216257683916568146" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SGPeugK_tlI/AAAAAAAAADw/l_8dlcML6aA/s200/June+2008+020.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><div></div><br /><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div><div>That's a joke, by the way! He works 18-20 hour days, talks to me on the phone in the middle of the night, and gets up at 3:30 am every morning! YUCK! He has been patient and gracious through it all, knowing that it will eventually end! He left today for a 10 day trip into the great woods of Washington, so we most likely won't hear much from him until he gets back. Last year, he told me about the terradactile size mosquitos, swarms of hornets that chased them, and ant hills that were as tall as he is!! Every time the phone rings, he says, "Is that my daddy?". "No, baby". Then he just hangs his head in disappointment:(. There is a shaky possibility that I will fly out to see Arthur July 10-15, but please keep me in your prayers as I am searching to find a plane ticket! It would be AMAZING to visit him in the middle of this mess, and it would probably comfort both of our hearts as newlyweds more than you will ever know!!</div></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-7394075794032301472008-06-18T11:11:00.000-07:002008-06-18T11:36:04.791-07:00Full of surprises!<a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUjbzNdEI/AAAAAAAAABo/f238AYOpbLI/s1600-h/new+041.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213291011392762946" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUjbzNdEI/AAAAAAAAABo/f238AYOpbLI/s320/new+041.jpg" border="0" /></a>Well, yesterday was a day to be remembered! It was our 1 month anniversary for being married, and little did I know, Arthur was planning a surprise for me! I was sitting at work, all by my lonesome, when in walked a lady carrying a beautiful dozen roses! I initially thought they were from a family member sending their wishes for me while I was alone this week. I kept thinking that until I opened the card. On the inside it read, "Abigail Clymer, Happy Anniversary, I love you baby!!". So basically, I just hung my head and cried! It's only been 2 1/2 weeks since he's been gone, but I miss him so much! It was so thoughtful of him to make me feel special on a day that represents our marriage! The funny thing is, his Army buddies all razzed him saying that he is setting the bar too high for himself! I guess he'll just have to keep it up:)<br /><div></div><br /><div>Aden and I have been sending Arthur pictures and videos on our new cell phones. It's such a God thing that we decided to get the phones right away, because we have been putting them to good use! I wish so badly that I could publish the videos of Aden leaving Arthur a message! Absolutely heartbreaking! It goes something like this...</div><div></div><br /><div>"Daddy, daddy, I love you! When I come see you, I'm going to give you a hug and a hug and a hug every day. To daddy. From Aden"....it's just the most precious little 4 year old voice you have ever heard! I'm sure it just warmed his heart when he watched it!</div><div></div><br /><div>I had my 10 year high school class reunion last weekend. I didn't actually graduate from this class...none of us really did. I went to a small private school that split when I was in 10th grade. All of this kids scattered and went to various schools from that point. My great friend, Amanda, took it upon herself to track us all down and get us together for a 'would have graduate together' reunion!! We met for dinner Friday night, and then everyone brought their kids to a park on Saturday! It was so great to see everyone, and I don't think anyone has changed since high school! Maybe at our 'would have graduate together' 20 year reunion!</div><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUkK046nI/AAAAAAAAABw/Ry9kHuA85Cs/s1600-h/new+016.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213291024016271986" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUkK046nI/AAAAAAAAABw/Ry9kHuA85Cs/s320/new+016.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUk3xObPI/AAAAAAAAAB4/v67eUTkPgwM/s1600-h/new+019.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5213291036080499954" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFlUk3xObPI/AAAAAAAAAB4/v67eUTkPgwM/s320/new+019.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div> </div><div>I can tell you what I have been doing while he's gone...shopping!! I've been taking all of our wedding gift cards and wiping them clean! We talked about waiting until we get to Alabama to make all of the big purchases, but oh well:) If you are one that gave me a gift card, God bless your giving soul! It has blessed me more than just providing a gift! It has given me entertainment to fill an obvious void in my life! I'm not a shopper, but when the money has been given as a g-i-f-t, I will be happy to spend it!! Lord bless you and keep you, and please keep Aden and I in your prayers! </div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-72356139448217125052008-06-12T07:03:00.000-07:002008-06-12T07:27:39.229-07:00Missing Daddy!<a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExhXXMBMI/AAAAAAAAABQ/C2nsbikS1qM/s1600-h/honeymoon+273.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211000693121090754" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExhXXMBMI/AAAAAAAAABQ/C2nsbikS1qM/s320/honeymoon+273.jpg" border="0" /></a> Well, there's nothing like being an Army wife:) Arthur was stolen away only 2 short weeks after our wedding, and will be gone for 3 1/2 months! This makes it fairly difficult to enjoy that newlywed/honeymooner sensation, but he's doing a great job about trying to call Aden and I when he can. Even though I am extremely grateful for the times we talk, it just never feels like quite enough!<br /><div></div><br /><div>While Arthur is gone, Aden and I basically are doing our best to stay busy. I admit that it's hard to get up and go to work, and sometimes I feel like I am forcing myself to go to church, but we do it. We have been spending some time with Bridget and the kids, some other Army wives that are patiently waiting at home, and with church activities. He went to church camp with Bridget for the first week after Arthur left, which left me a lot of ALONE time!! I have been working full time (yuck!) and Arthur typically calls me around 1 a.m. So, all in all, I'm getting pretty tired! I shouldn't be the one complaining, as Arthur wakes up at 4 a.m. and doesn't stop working until 10 p.m. or later! </div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExh1x2rHI/AAAAAAAAABY/2Gc-4o4uzPI/s1600-h/honeymoon+281.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211000701286001778" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExh1x2rHI/AAAAAAAAABY/2Gc-4o4uzPI/s320/honeymoon+281.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div></div><div>I took Garrett, Georgia, and Aden to the creek last weekend-one of my favorite things to do! In Tahlequah, there are plenty of rivers, ponds, creeks, etc. to go get your feet wet in. I only truly like the water where you can see the rocks on the bottom, and have a big fear of what's underneath that dark deep water in the lakes!! Arthur tells me that the snakes and fish are more scared of me than I am of them-and I'm just not sure that's true! My heart starts pounding and I get short of breath...and I just can't get out of the water fast enough!! At the creek, Georgia was in the water when Garrett saw a 3 foot long snake headed straight for her. At first, I thought Garret was just pestering his little sister, but when I saw it-my heart skipped a beat. Georgia quickly moved and the snake whipped around and headed in the other direction. Thank God for big brothers! The problem was, we still had to cross the creek to get to the other side, knowing that this ominous snake had just entered our paths. Eeek! Well, that's all for now. I'm inserting some pics of Aden and daddy at the river the day before he left. Hope you enjoy!!</div><div> </div><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5211000709047412418" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s320/honeymoon+290.jpg" border="0" /></a></div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a></div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a> </div><br /><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a> </div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a></div><div><div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a> </div><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SFExiSsUZsI/AAAAAAAAABg/bAhBZhSaCWc/s1600-h/honeymoon+290.jpg"></a></div>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-70400664612244194762008-06-05T11:03:00.001-07:002008-06-05T11:33:42.077-07:00The Honeymoon!!We got engaged, then married, so what is left? A Honeymoon! We had a huge gift of a honeymoon that led us to some incredible places!! We went straight from the wedding to an amazing bed and breakfast (Two Hearts Inn). The room was more like a condo, with a jacuzzi, stand up/rain head shower, big flat screen, instant fire place, comfy love seat, incredible food delivered to our door, and a large 4 post bed! We completely came down off of the 'high' of the wedding and were finally able to relax in each others' arms. No more preparation, running errands, buying supplies, hauling off trash, or answering the phones every 15 minutes! It was a perfect evening! We ate, took a jacuzzi bath, watched a movie, etc...The funny part about the jacuzzi, is that Arthur put some bubble bath in it and the bubbles were so tall-we couldn't even see each other! We made bubble castles and a bubble wall between us. Honeymoon like activities, right?<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208466745895790866" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SEgw6OWNqRI/AAAAAAAAABA/DDZ4VuSIWU8/s320/honeymoon+005.jpg" border="0" /><br />Sunday, we flew to San Francisco, only to be picked up by a limo and taken to our hotel! We had a wonderful view of the city and the bay from our room, were within walking distance from China Town, the Union Square shopping center, Fisherman's Warf, and so many great restaurants! We walked to dinner that night, and ate at a little Italian hole-in-the-wall that had a 45 minute wait. The next day, we jumped on the trolley and headed to Fisherman's Warf (a long road lined with piers in the bay). Long story short...we received 2 free bay cruise tickets, 2 double decker bus Golden Gate tour tickets, $50 gift certificate for food, took a ferry and a tour of Alcatraz, watched the sea lions bake in the sun, and ended up in bed by 6:30 pm!! The next day, we went to the most crooked street in America (Lombard Street), went to Ghirardelli square, did the double decker tour over Golden Gate, shopped around the plaza, and then headed to an underground Blues joint! Another fun day! Wednesday, we rented a car and headed to Napa Valley! We learned so much at the wineries that day, and had a lot of fun exploring the area! Thursday, we went on the Napa Valley Wine Train for lunch and a 2 1/2 hour tour of the Valley. We continued to enjoy each other's company, and truly felt like we were on our honeymoon! Friday morning, we were able to enjoy a hot air balloon ride over the Valley! We got up extremely early, and by the time we got back (9:30 am), we were exhausted. We both fell asleep and woke up in just enough time to check out and get on the road. We drove up to Heldsburg (on accident), and spent the evening in a really neat town. They had an old town square with modern shops and restaurants. On Saturday, we headed towards the coast, and ended up driving through Sonoma Valley. We would absolutely go back here! The road was a fun drive, and the wineries were all very quaint and friendly. One, in particular, had a gigantic tasting room filled with mustards, chipotles, bbq sauces, oil/vinegars, jams that we were able to dip pretzels in. Welllll, let's just say it was lunch time and Arthur and I kept circling around the room trying to "decide" what we wanted! Yummy:) We found HWY 1 and drove down the coast back to San Francisco. We only stopped long enough to hike down to the ocean, take a couple of pictures, and for Arthur to swim out to a plymouth size rock with waves crashing around him! Ahhh! One of those scary honeymoon stories kept popping in my mind, but I know that he is an excellent swimmer and safe (most of the time)!<br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5208467217304651762" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_F5fHvHRXryk/SEgxVqe2B_I/AAAAAAAAABI/eW4CDyBNg78/s320/honeymoon+060.jpg" border="0" /><br />We flew 7 hours to get home on the following Sunday, and didn't arrive in Tahlequah until 1:30 am! I had to work the next day, so back to reality! We probably could've stayed on the honeymoon forever, if we didn't miss Aden so much! We all called each other frequently, and that's when Aden began calling him Daddy and Dad instead of Arthur. Still puts a smile on our faces!!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-59640133464632149912008-06-02T10:38:00.001-07:002008-06-02T10:55:51.970-07:00We did it!Well, we did it! Arthur and I got married on May 17, 2008...and loved every minute of it! It was a quick 4 month engagement, which means not much time to plan. Lord willing, everthing fell in place...photographer, cake, flowers, showers, invitations/programs, decorations, music, and everything in-between. It was a military wedding, so our colors were the proud red, white, and blue that represents America! Arthur looked incredibly handsome in his military uniform, and I had a red and blue sash tacked on to my stark white dress. Aden looked adorable in his little "penguin suit", and was presented with a ring from daddy during the ceremony. It went a little bit like this..."Aden, we are going to be a family now, and I don't want you to feel left out. I got you this ring to show you that I'm making a promise to you. I promise to be the best dad that I can be with God's help".<br /><br />I don't remember it verbatum, as I was fighting off tears! We had so much fun getting family pictures, and rounding up Aden for each shot! We couldn't have wished for a more beautiful day...sunshine, lots of friends, beautiful decorations, everyone on time, plenty of shade, and a lot of smiles to go around!<br /><br />Arthur is such an incredible man! Aden and I are extremely blessed to have him as a father and a husband in our lives! The household now feels complete (even if we are still tripping over piles of gifts and dirty laundry from the past month). Aden is all about Arthur since the wedding. Here are some examples of quotes (I kid you not!):<br /><br />"You are the best daddy in the whole world...mama did you hear me say that?"<br />"I love you dad"<br />"I want to hold daddy's hand"<br />"I want to sit by my daddy"<br />"Daddy can pray every day"<br /><br />...and so on! I just can't get over how much Aden has instantly struck up this love for a man that has been in our lives for a long period and hasn't ever experienced it! I hope that Arthur continues to gain confidence in his fathering abilities, and that God will continue to work through Aden's little voice as he boosts that conficence every day.<br /><br />So, here's the sad part. Arthur had to leave on June 1st and won't fly in until July 29th, only to turn around and leave until mid Sept. Aden and I are counting the days off of a big calendar and will continue to shower him with cards and letters until "daddy" comes home. We love him, and support him, and will continue waiting for him until we begin our new life together in Alabama!Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6578806392620330021.post-56622667623133556932008-04-17T08:00:00.000-07:002008-04-17T08:21:18.263-07:00WOW-Life is changing!!<span style="font-family:lucida grande;">Most of you know by now, that Arthur and I are engaged-or already married by the time you read this! I couldn't be any happier than I am right now! The last couple of years have been a struggle...from buying diapers, food, clothing, paying rent/bills, staying active in church, single mom's organization, balancing friends/family, finishing my Master's, travelling, moving multiple times, and maintaining my sanity all at the same time!! The struggle has been worth it, though! Along the way, I have realized how important family is to me. They never turn their back on me, and support me when I am at my lowest. I have also realized what it's like to lose friendships, struggle financially, and to be alone. </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">What most of you don't know...is that I was completely content with being alone! I had settled into the life of being a single mom, and knew that Christ was holding Aden and I in the palm of His hand. Then, after 5 years of being single, I met Arthur! We met at church/Sunday School/cell group and I had my eye on him-but not for the reason you would think! He had incredible answers and would challenge group conversations, and I agreed with him! We began sitting by each other here and there, and eventually he asked me and Aden to go out on his boat one sunny summer day:) After that, a crush in my heart had begun, so I started to pray about him! He then asked me to Bikes Blues & Barbecue (a motorcycle rally in AR)-and to ride on the back of his motorcycle with him. I had a friend die in a motorcycle accident a couple of years ago, and had sworn myself away from them! BUT, needless to say, I went-because I couldn't resist Arthur's charm! What I will say, is that when I pulled up to the house for our 'day date'-Arthur was wiping down his motorcycle with no shirt on. Oh my...I thought "Is this guy trying to impress me?" and I let out a little laugh in my car before I got out:) The next day at church, he asked me to lunch...Monday- watch football...Tuesday-talked on the phone...Wednesday- I cooked dinner and he took me to a movie...and the rest is not <em>history</em>, but it is about to be our <em>future</em> together!! </span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;"></span><br /><span style="font-family:lucida grande;">So, it looks as though we are about to start an ARMY family! God has provided, once again, and this time it was completely UNEXPECTED!! </span>Abigailhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11994988374720318186noreply@blogger.com0
